The traditional fan dance is a symbol of beauty, believed to have originated in meadows and open fields. Fan dancers are believed to emulate flowers in an open breeze, which captures the audience’s attention and inspires neighboring countries to have their own fan dance. Fan dances are performed during our annual culture shows and Mid-Autumn Youth Summit.

Nón Lá - Hat Dance

The infamous conical bamboo hat symbolizing its home country, Vietnam, is used by dancers as they twirl around and maneuver the hat in unique ways, symbolizing the hard work of farmers in the fields. Along with our fan dance, hat dances are also performed during our culture shows and/or MAYS.
